THE BRAND

Brava Fabrics

Founded in 2015 in Barcelona, BRAVA FABRICS is an ethical clothing brand with the mission to make eco-responsible clothing fun and accessible.

Inspired by travel, gastronomy, and the Costa Brava for its visual elements, she creates original clothes with ecological materials.

By producing in its workshops in Barcelona and Porto and using materials such as GOTS certified cotton and Merino wool without mulesing, Brava Fabrics promotes eco-responsibility and FairTrade.

Brava Fabrics
CERTIFICATIONS

GOTS

Created in 2002, it is an international label that applies to organic textiles. The GOTS label is managed and issued by the Global Matière biologique Textile Standard (GOTS).

GOTS was born from four other international labels: theMatière biologique Trade Association, the JOCA, the International Association of Natural Textile Industry and the Japan Matière biologique Coton Association. Two other national labels, the IVN Naturtextil and the Soil Association, were added to the four previous ones.

A textile product with the GOTS label is a product whose manufacture respects ecological standards and the use of organic cotton. The GOTS label also attests to standards of social responsibility. Although it is above all, a guarantee of quality for the product.

Naturals

Thanks to their ease of production and growth, these natural materials, whether of plant or animal origin, have little impact on the environment. They therefore do not need labels. However, when they have the Oeko-Tex label, it means that they have benefited from regulations for the use of toxic products. These garments are therefore not a risk to our health. Linen, hemp or alpaca wool are among these natural materials.

Linen is a particularly resistant natural material. Produced from cultivated flax, this "wild grass" is very easy to grow in Europe. In addition to being sustainable, linen has the advantage of being more biodegradable and recyclable than cotton. It requires little maintenance, little energy and little water for its growth, and releases little nitrate into the air.

Hemp is one of the best and most widely used natural and ecological fibres. As an alternative to cotton, it is very useful for making t-shirts or jeans for example. The main advantages of this plant is that it is particularly biodegradable, resistant, and does not irritate the skin. Moreover, it is very easy to cultivate hemp: no irrigation or pesticides. It even allows the soil to regenerate itself.
