Bhallot is a French brand of ethical bags made from linen.

After a two-year expatriation to Bangladesh, the founders of the ethical fashion brand - Guillaume and Jean-Baptiste - became aware of the ethical and ecological issues related to the textile industry.

In order to preserve the environment, the French brand favours natural materials and fibres such as linen and jute.

Manufactured in a workshop in Toulouse and in a cooperative group certified by the World Fair Trade Organisation in Bangladesh, Bhallot favours production that is environmentally and humanly friendly.

PETA Vegan Approved

Originating from People for the Commerce équitable Treatment of Animals, PETA is an international label that works for the well-being of animals.

This label works in particular with shoe brands, clothing brands or brands manufacturing various clothing accessories. A product with this certification is a product for which no animal has been used as a guinea pig during the various tests.

The label also certifies that no products from the animal world were used in the manufacture of the garment. It is controlled according to a declaration made by the manufacturers.

PETA - Certifications - Klow

It is a label created in 1988, whose aim is to ensure fair trade for economically emerging countries.

Known as "Max Havelaar" when it was created, the label is internationally recognised and applies to various food, cosmetic and textile products. A product that is certified "Fairtrade" by FLO International, which is the guarantor of the label, is a product that financially supports farming and labour communities through a minimum premium.

The label also takes into account a number of ecological criteria. The Fairtrade label ensures that employees are paid with dignity, that there is no child labour, no discrimination and that social standards are respected.

Thanks to their ease of production and growth, these natural materials, whether of plant or animal origin, have little impact on the environment. They therefore do not need labels. However, when they have the Oeko-Tex label, it means that they have benefited from regulations for the use of toxic products. These garments are therefore not a risk to our health. Linen, hemp or alpaca wool are among these natural materials.

Linen is a particularly resistant natural material. Produced from cultivated flax, this "wild grass" is very easy to grow in Europe. In addition to being sustainable, linen has the advantage of being more biodegradable and recyclable than cotton. It requires little maintenance, little energy and little water for its growth, and releases little nitrate into the air.

Hemp is one of the best and most widely used natural and ecological fibres. As an alternative to cotton, it is very useful for making t-shirts or jeans for example. The main advantages of this plant is that it is particularly biodegradable, resistant, and does not irritate the skin. Moreover, it is very easy to cultivate hemp: no irrigation or pesticides. It even allows the soil to regenerate itself.
